Vipers 5 Chiefs 4 (OT)

Thomas Aldworth's breakaway goal at the 48 second mark of the first overtime period gave the Vernon Vipers a 5-4 win over the visiting Chilliwack Chiefs Saturday night.

The goal was the second of the night for Aldworth who helped his team erase a 3-1 second period deficit to earn the win.

Luke McColgan scored three times for the Chiefs including the tying goal with 53 seconds left in the third period with Chiefs goaltender Aidan Pelino on the bench for the extra attacker.

Jake Larson also scored for the Chiefs (6-1-0-1) who held period leads of 2-0 and 3-2.

The single point moves the Chiefs into a tie for first place in the Mainland Divsion with the Prince George Spruce Kings, who visit Prospera Centre Wednesday night.
