The Chilliwack Coliseum is looking to add a Zamboni Driver / Ice Technician to it’s crew. 

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Zamboni Driver / Ice Technician is responsible for various day-to-day ice and building operations while maintaining a high standard for our clients before, during, and after ice-related events, along with other building maintenance and operational duties as required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in all aspects of arena ice preparation and resurfacing, including scraping, flooding, and preparation/operation of an Ice Resurfacer (Zamboni) and an Ice Edger.

Facility preventative maintenance, repairs, and other property support duties.

Regularly inspect, clean, and occasionally replace protective glass/boards around the ice surface.

Assist with the painting of points, lines, and logos on the ice surface (or willingness to learn).

Assist with facility events set up and tear down as required.

Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Must hold valid RO (Refrigeration Operator) Ticket 

Must have experience driving Zamboni and working with ice

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Must be physically able to do heavy lifting (50 lbs) and comfortable working at heights

Experience with building maintenance is an asset

First Aid/CPR certification and WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain)

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to Coliseum

Possess knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in ice resurfacing

Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions

Schedule:

Must be able to work shifts including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and overnight when required. Full-time hours are available

Salary: $22.00-$29.00 per hour
