Chiefs 7 Centennials 1

Luke McColgan scored twice and added an assist and Kurt Black scored once and added three assists to help lead the Chiefs to a 7-1 drubbing of the visiting Merritt Centennials Friday night.

The win improves the Chiefs record to 6-1-0-0 on the season.

McColgan scored the lone goal of the first period that saw the Cents outshoot the Chiefs 8-7.

Chilliwack blew it open in the the second period with three unanswered goals. McColgan's second of the night on the power play made it 2-0. Jake Hand's fourth of the season made it 3-0 at the 7:06 mark before Black tipped in a Dennis Cholowski point shot on the power play to make it 4-0 Chiefs after forty minutes.

Ryan Bowen's first BCHL goal at 5:04 of the final period upped the Chiefs lead to 5-0. Jake Larson added his fourth of the season three minutes late to increase the Chiefs lead to six. Malik Kaila's power play goal at 14:12 made it 6-1 before Tipper Higgins rounded out the scoring with his second of the season.

Aidan Pelino went the distance in goal for the Chiefs making 27 saves to improve his season record to 4-0-0-0.

The Chiefs were 2/4 on the power play and 6/8 on the penalty kill.
