Kirsten Hijdra is the founder of The S.H.E.D., a high-performance training program for athletes of all levels. What began as a small shed on her property has grown into a premier training environment within the Chilliwack Chiefs Athletic Zone, where Kirsten is entering her third season working with the team.
Raised in a family of elite athletes and coaches, Kirsten began her coaching journey at age 16 and has now spent over 30 years guiding athletes across multiple sports. While formal education and certifications are part of her foundation, it’s her lived experience, hands-on expertise, and lifelong immersion in sport that truly define her approach. She trains athletes by example, showing that age is no excuse and that strength, resilience, and skill are developed through consistent effort and dedication.
Her programs focus on strength, endurance, speed, agility, injury prevention, movement quality, and mental resilience, blending science-backed methods with practical, functional training that prepares athletes to perform at their best.
