Express 3 Chiefs 1

The Chiefs and Coquitlam Express met in  a highly entertaining affair Friday night in Coquitlam with the Express earning a 3-1 win.

It was the first win for the Express against the Chiefs this season in four tries.

The goaltending was exceptional for both teams with Chris Tai making 33 saves to earn the victory. Aidan Pelino stopped 29 shots for Chilliwack.

Express goal scoreres were Cole Bevan, Daniel Fritz and Corey Mackin who put the game away with a shorthanded empty net goal with just over two minutes left in the game.

Ryan Bowen scored the lone Chiefs goal on a second period two man advantage.

The Express were 1/4 with the man advantage while the Chiefs went 1/6.

With the loss the Chiefs record falls to 13-8-01 on the season while the Express improve to 9-11-1-4.

The two teams will meet again Saturday night in Chilliwack. Game time is 7pm.
