Will Calverley’s goal with 17 seconds left in the third period broke a 4-4 tie and gave the Chiefs a 5-4 victory over the visiting Wenatchee Wild Friday at Prospera Centre.

The win improved the Chiefs record to 2-5-1-1 while the Wild fell to 4-2-0-1.

The Wild came into the game with the league’s top ranked power play unit and used it to get back in the game. Cooper Zech’s second of the season on the Wild’s fourth power play of the first period got the Wild within one with 63 seconds left in the first.

A power play goal by Jasper Weatherby (6) just four minutes into the second period tied the game at two.

Kaden Pickering’s first of two of the night put the Chiefs up by one before Zech’s second of the game put the game at 3-3 after forty minutes.

With just under seven minutes left in the third Pickering (4) gave the Chiefs their third lead of the game but it only lasted 11 seconds before Weatherby struck again to knot the game at four.
