Chiefs suffer first loss rematch in Prince George tonight

Chad Staley scored twice and added two assists to lead the Prince George Spruce Kings (5-1-0-0) to a 6-4 win over the visiting Chilliwack Chiefs (4-1-0-0) Friday night.

The Spruce King led 3-0 after one period and upped their lead to four with a shorthanded goal by Staley with just 12 seconds gone in the second period.

The Chiefs made it interesting getting goals from Tipper Higgins, Jake Larson and Craig Puffer in a span of 3:23 in the second period to get within one. Staley's power play goal at 11:23 of the second gave the home team a 5-3 lead after two.

Jake Larson's second of the night at 3:06 of the third period once again brought the Chiefs to within one but that was as close as they would get.

The Spruce Kings outshot the Chiefs 27-20.

Chilliwack was 1/5 on the power play while the Kings went 3/5

Mitchell Datz took the loss in goal for the Chiefs while Jesse Jenks earned the win.

The two teams meet again tonight in Prince George
