Chiefs Sign Ty Campbell

The Chilliwack Chiefs are pleased to announce the signing of Clarkson University commit Ty Campbell.

Campbell, a 2005-born defenceman, joins the Chiefs after starting the season with the Omaha Lancers of the USHL.

“We’re excited and fortunate to add Ty to our defense group. He’s only a 2005 born, but he’ll bring us size and experience,” said Head Coach and GM Brian Maloney. “Having played juniors already, plus the start of this year in the USHL.”

Before heading south, the 6’2 Campbell played two seasons in the Central Canada Hockey League in his home province of Ontario. There, he tallied 44 points in 84 points from the blueline.

“We’ve had some injuries on the back end, which has put us in a position this season where we don’t want to be. Adding Ty will bring depth and competition to our back end,” said Maloney.

In his two seasons in the CCHL, Campbell won the league’s Top Prospect Award both years. In 2023, he also earned a spot on Canada East at the World Junior A Challenge, helping his team to a Silver Medal.

“I’m very grateful and excited to join such a great organization like the one here in Chilliwack. I’ve heard great things about the coaching staff and the team. I’m ready to get in the building and start working,” said Campbell.

Welcome to Chilliwack Ty!
