The Chiefs and Grizzlies meet for the second and final time this regular season this afternoon at Prospera Centre. Puck drops at 2pm.

The Chiefs are coming off a 5-3 loss in Salmon Arm Friday night. They held leads of 1-0 and 2-1 but couldn’t hold off the Silverbacks who scored twice in the game’s final seven minutes to secure the victory.

The Grizzlies are playing their third game in three days this afternoon. Friday they dropped a 6-5 overtime decision in Wenatchee before losing 4-3 in Langley last night.

Sixteen year old Alex Newhook continues to be the story for the Grizzlies. The youngster leads them in scoring and ranks third overall in the league with 56 points including 19 goals in 39 games.

Chilliwack enters today’s game in fourth place in the mainland division with 45 points. They are seven points back of all three teams ahead of them, Surrey, Langley and Prince George. They’ve played one fewer game than Prince George and two fewer than both Langley and Surrey.

The Grizzlies are currently tied for first place in the island division with Powell River. Both teams have 54 points.

Join us after the game for a post game skate with the Chiefs. All participants on the ice must wear skates and children 13 and under must wear helmets.
