Chiefs host Silverbacks tonight

Chilliwack Chiefs (14-8-0-1) vs Salmon Arm Silverbacks (8-9-2-5)

The Chiefs finish a busy weekend with a 5pm home game versus the Salmon Arm Silverbacks tonight. It’s the first meeting of the season between the two teams.

The Chiefs have split a pair of games with the Coquitlam Express this weekend. After dropping a 3-1 decision in Coquitlam Friday night, the Chiefs answered with a 2-1 win on home ice last night. Jordan Kawaguchi scored both Chiefs goals, while David Poirier made his Chiefs debut in goal making 20 saves.

With last night’s win the Chiefs have moved to within one point of the Mainland Division leading Prince George Spruce Kings. Chilliwack has three games in hand.

The Silverbacks are also playing their third game in three days. Friday night they were defeated 4-3 in overtime in Powell River before falling 7-3 in Cowichan Valley last night.

Salmon Arm is in fifth place in the Interior Division with 23 points.
