Blaisdell to play in World Under 17 Challenge

Chiefs forward Harrison Blaisdell was today named to one of the three Canadian Under 17 teams that will play at the 2017 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge next month in the BC cities of Dawson Creek and Fort St. John.

The tournament runs from November 5 through November 11.

Blaisdell, who has already secured a scholarship to the University of North Dakota has two goals and seven assists in 13 games with the Chiefs this season. He’s one of six BCHL players that will play in the tournament joining Alex Newhook and Jacson Alexander of the Victoria Grizzlies, Luke Reid and Massimo Rizzo of the Penticton Vees and Alex Swetlikoff of the Vernon Vipers.

Blaisdell is the fourth member of the Chiefs to play in the U17 tournament. Forward Jeff Tambellini and goaltender Ryan Cyr both played for Team Pacific at the 2001 tournament. Forward Gabe Gauthier also played in that tournament, suiting up for Team USA. USA defeated Team Pacific 5-4 in the Gold Medal Game.
