The Chilliwack Chiefs are proud to announce that Lachlan Getz has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Boston University for the 2022/23 season.
The 6’3″ defenseman just completed his second season with the Chiefs, where he earned the Orland Kurtenbach Top Defenseman Award with his defensive partner Xavier Henry.
“We are very happy for Lachlan and his family. He is a quality individual who is very deserving of this opportunity. We look forward to watching Lachlan continue his career at Boston University and thank him for his tireless efforts here in Chilliwack,” said Chiefs Head Coach and General Manager Brian Maloney.
During the 2021/22 season, Getz netted 22 points in 54 games. He also added on a two-goal performance in Game 7 to help the Chiefs move on from the first round of the BCHL playoffs.
“The opportunity to play for such a storied hockey program while studying in the great city of Boston is one I could not pass up. I would like to thank my teammates, coaches, and parents for helping me through this exciting process,” said Getz.
