Chiefs play Rivermen in first round of BCHL playoffs

The Chilliwack Chiefs finished second in the Coastal Division and will play the Langley Rivermen in the first round of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) playoffs.

The full schedule for the first round has also been released. With Chilliwack earning the second seed and Langley being the seventh seed the Chiefs will have home ice advantage in the series. In a best-of-seven series, the Chiefs will have game one, two, five and seven (if necessary) at the Chilliwack Coliseum.

Game one is on Friday (April 5) with a 7 p.m. puck drop and game two is the following day on Saturday (April 6) at 6 p.m. Game five would be April 11 at 7 p.m. and game seven is scheduled for April 14 at 7 p.m.

The first 1,000 fans at game one will receive rally towels. Chilliwack’s very own Andrew Christopher will perform the national anthem and play throughout the first intermission. Game two will honour the life of Ross ‘Rosco’ Beebe. The first 1,000 fans will receive a photo and Rosco’s passion for golf will be played during the first intermission. In the second intermission 17-year-old figure skater Ava will perform.

Game three at George Preston Arena will be on April 8 at 7:15 p.m with game four the following night on April 9 at 7:15 p.m. Game six would be on April 13 at 7:15 p.m.

The Chiefs are offering fans a bus service to travel to game four in Langley. Bus service to and from George Preston Arena as well as the game ticket will be covered in the $35 price. To reserve your spot, email chilliwackchiefs@gmail.com

The Chiefs are 6-2 against the Rivermen this season, with four of the games being only a one-goal difference.
