Dustin Renas Commits to the University of Toronto

Chilliwack, B.C. – The Chilliwack Chiefs are proud to announce that 2005-born forward Dustin Renas has committed to the University of Toronto.

Renas joined the Chiefs last season and played a key role in the team’s extended playoff run. His work ethic, skill, and consistency made him an important part of the group both on and off the ice.

“Dustin came to us last year and was a great addition to our roster,” said Chiefs Head Coach and General Manager Brian Maloney. “Playing in the BCHL allowed U SPORTS and NCAA programs to see him compete at a high level, and they liked what they saw. Dustin is a Division I player all day long, but heading to U SPORTS is a smart move. He’s secured an athletic scholarship and, in today’s hockey landscape, still has flexibility and freedom of movement moving forward. I wish Dustin nothing but the best in his university career.”

“Choosing the University of Toronto was an easy decision for me. The league is highly competitive and gives players a real opportunity to keep developing and chasing pro goals while getting a world-class education,” said Renas. “I can’t wait to start my journey with them!”

The Chiefs organization congratulates Dustin on this exciting next step and wishes him continued success as he begins his academic and hockey career at the University of Toronto.
