Chiefs Trade Stenberg to Centennials

The Chilliwack Chiefs have traded Michael Stenberg to the Merritt Centennials in exchange for futures considerations.

“Stenny came to us during the middle of the season and was impactful instantly. He’s the type of player that would go through a wall for anyone. Always came to the arena with a smile and a good attitude,” Head Coach and GM Brian Maloney said. “Unfortunately, he got injured late in the season and wasn’t able to get back for the playoff run.”

Stenberg joined the Chiefs last November after a season and a half in the USHL. In his time with the Chiefs, the Providence College commit scored 13 points in 27 games played.

“We have some good young right-handed shot local boys coming into our roster next season, so we felt it would be best for Stenny to be relied upon a little more on a different team,” Maloney continued. “We want to thank him for everything he’s done and for being such a great teammate.”

Best of luck Michael!
