Chilliwack, B.C. – The Chilliwack Chiefs are excited to announce the signing of goaltender Vladislav Bryzgalov, adding experience and stability to the crease as the team moves forward through the season.
Bryzgalov joins the Chiefs after putting up strong numbers at the junior hockey level and proving himself within the BCHL. His familiarity with the league and ability to perform in pressure situations were key factors in the decision.
“We like his age and his size. He’s competitive and a real hockey nut, having grown up around the game with his dad being involved in hockey for such a long time,” said Head Coach and General Manager Brian Maloney. “Those are qualities we value in a goaltender.”
Bryzgalov will join fellow goaltenders David Di Girolamo and Mathias Hasselmann, rounding out a goaltending group the Chiefs believe can provide depth and consistency down the stretch.
“I’m really happy to be in Chilliwack,” said Bryzgalov. “It’s a great spot, and I’m grateful to be welcomed here.”
The Chiefs would also like to thank goaltender Ben Laurette for his time with the organization and wish him the best of luck as he continues his hockey career in Bonnyville, Alberta.
Welcome to the Chiefs, Vlad!
