The Chilliwack Chiefs are extremely excited to announce the signing of 2003-born forward Elliot Dutil.
Dutil comes to the BCHL after spending this past season with the National Championship-winning Brooks Bandits. In 2022/23, the Montreal product netted 29 goals and 30 assists for 59 points in 57 regular season games.
“Last year, our young team grew and did a lot of good things throughout the season, but the one area that we struggled in was scoring those timely goals. Elliot will help in this department,” said Chiefs Head Coach and General Manager Brian Maloney. “Not only does he put the puck in the back of the net, but it’s how he does it. That’s through 100% effort and playing the game the right way. We’re excited to add Elliot to our deep roster.”
In this year’s Centennial Cup, he helped lead the charge with 6 points in 5 games. Before the AJHL, Dutil played for the Notre Dame Hounds of the SJHL in 2021/22, where he scored 67 points in 58 games.
“We had a chance to add an experienced goal scorer that’s coming from a winning organization with the Bandits. Elliot has proven that he can produce at the Junior A level. Now he wants to try and challenge himself by taking his talents to the BCHL,” said Maloney.
After Dutil plays his final year of junior hockey with the Chiefs, he is already committed to play his NCAA Division I hockey with the
Lindenwood University Lions.
“The Chiefs have a long tradition of developing players and competing for the ultimate prize. I look forward to meeting my new teammates, coaches, and community and leaving it all out on the ice,” said Dutil.
