Chiefs name new voice

The Chilliwack Chiefs are excited to announce that Kraig Krause will be the new voice of the hockey club.

Krause will handle the play by play duties during the Chiefs online broadcasts as well as during the Shaw TV broadcasts produced by VBN Sports. He will also provide the live in-game reports that will air on 89.5 The Drive.

Krause’s new role with the hockey club will also include taking on a position within the Chiefs sales team. 
 
 Krause has held a variety of positions in amateur and professional sports organizations in the American Hockey League, Western Hockey League and with the Toronto Blue Jays single A affiliate, the Vancouver Canadians. He is a graduate of Yale Secondary in Abbotsford and studied Broadcast Journalism and Sports Broadcasting at BCIT along with communications at York University in Toronto, and currently is finishing a degree in Media and Communications at the University of the Fraser Valley.

In addition to Kraig's university radio show CIVL Cascade Check Sports Show, he has appeared in several short films, commercials and music videos. Prior to living in Abbotsford, Kraig has spent time in Korea, Toronto, and his birth place of Chilliwack. A sports enthusiast and athlete, Kraig has played a variety of sports including Football with the Provincial Champion Chilliwack Giants, Baseball, Hockey and Soccer.
