Chiefs Host Toque Toss on Saturday Night

This year, the Chilliwack Chiefs will be hosting a ‘Toque Toss’ to support children and teens in our community who need warm clothing this winter.

Due to economic hardship, there is an even greater demand than ever before for practical items of clothing. Warm clothes are always needed and are greatly valued.

As well, there are a large number of teens in our community that are in need of more support.

The toques and mittens are being collected and donated to Chilliwack Community Services. Last year the program helped over 600 families and almost 1,300 children.

Shirley Triemstra, the Fundraising Coordinator says, “The reason we’re asking for toques and mittens is because those are useable products that our families can really benefit from. Families were getting between five and six teddy bears because we had so many. We’re trying to find something that is soft, can be thrown on the ice, and will work better for families.”

On December 9th, come and throw your toques, mittens, and scarves on the ice for the first goal scored by the Chilliwack Chiefs. Your support is appreciated.

Tickets can be purchased from the Chilliwack Chiefs office at the Coliseum throughout the week from 9am – 4pm or online anytime.
