The Chilliwack Chiefs are proud to announce that Brian Morse has committed to the University of Maine in the NCAA to continue his hockey career.
The Fresno, CA native is in his second season in the BCHL, both with the Chiefs.
A senior player on the team, Morse is already on pace to break his points record from last season. Through 17 games, he has tallied 15 points. The 20-year-old is currently tied for first in team scoring and sixth amongst defenceman in the BCHL.
“This is very much deserved for Brian. He’s worked hard for this, has continued to improve every day, and has been very patient,” says Head Coach and General Manager Brian Maloney. “He’s had to adapt and change his game to give him the best chance to be an excellent NCAA player. It’s paid off.”
Described as a workhorse and leader by his coaches, Morse becomes the second player from the Chiefs to commit to Maine this season. Austin Peters committed in October.
“I chose Maine because of my connection with the coaching staff and the school’s emphasis on supporting the hockey program. I know they have some of the best fans in college hockey, and I can’t wait to play in front of them,” said Morse.
Congratulations, Brian!
