Chilliwack, B.C. – The Chilliwack Chiefs and Greater Vancouver Powersports (GVP) are celebrating the Great Outdoors on November 6 at the Chilliwack Coliseum!
The night will feature a special ceremonial puck drop from Chiefs alumnus Kevin Estrada, whose connection to Chilliwack runs deep. After moving to the community at 15, Estrada played four seasons with the Chiefs, recording 195 points, serving as team captain, and helping the team win multiple league and team trophies.
Estrada was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes and earned a scholarship to Michigan State University, where he played before continuing his career professionally.
Today, Estrada remains a proud member of the Chilliwack community and owns and operates Sturgeon Slayers, a Fraser Valley-based guided fishing company. In 2021, Estrada set a record for white sturgeon fishing, before breaking his own record again this year. In 2025, he was also awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his contributions to Canada and the community.
Great Outdoors Night, presented by GVP, will celebrate the Fraser Valley’s passion for hockey, powersports, fishing, and the beautiful outdoors we’re lucky to call our backyard.
