Vipers double Chiefs 6-3

Colton Sparrow's second goal of the third period proved to be the winner as the Vernon Vipers doubled the visiting Chilliwack Chiefs 6-3 Sunday afternoon.

It was the first regulation loss for the Chiefs (19-10-0-2) in nine games.

Trevor Hills, David Bondra and Malcolm Gould scored for the Chiefs.

Bondra's goal early in the third period tied the game at two but two straight goals by Sparrow gave the Vipers (16-12-1-2) a lead they would not relinquish.

Brendan Persley, Peter McMullen, Dylan Walchuk and Ben Gamache also scored for the Vipers.

Mitch Gillam made 28 saves in goal for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs next game is Wednesday December 28th when they host the Prince George Cougars on Fill the Rink for the Food Bank Night.
