Teams Are Set For RBC Cup

CHILLIWACK, B.C. – The Chilliwack Chiefs will welcome four Canadian Junior A regional champions to the 2018 RBC Cup, Canada’s National Junior A Championship, set for May 12-20 in Chilliwack, B.C.

The Chiefs and four regional representatives – Ottawa Jr. Senators (East), Steinbach Pistons (West), Wellington Dukes (Central), and Wenatchee Wild (Pacific) – will go head-to-head for the national title at the 4,851-seat Prospera Centre.

RBC Cup action begins Saturday, May 12, at 2 p.m. PT when the Wellington Dukes take on the Ottawa Jr. Senators. The opening ceremonies will officially kick off the tournament prior to the start of the 7 p.m. PT game between the host Chiefs and Wenatchee Wild.

“After months of hard work and preparation from our community, we could not be more excited to welcome the teams and fans to the 2018 RBC Cup,” said Chief David Jimmie, co-chair of the local host committee. “With five great teams set to compete for a national championship and a variety of ticket options available, fans have an amazing opportunity to witness the highest level of Junior A hockey in the country.”

Full-event ticket packages are available for purchase online now at HockeyCanada.ca/Tickets, which includes one reserved-seating ticket to all 13 RBC Cup games for $179. Regional team packages are also available for purchase for $80, and include one ticket to each round-robin game for a specific team. As with all of Hockey Canada’s national championships, all net proceeds from ticket sales remain in the host community as a legacy to support programs that foster the growth of hockey.

Single-game tickets can be purchased online now at HockeyCanada.ca/Tickets, or at the Prospera Centre box office. All single-game, reserved-seating tickets for the preliminary round cost $18 for adults and $12 for youth ages 3-18. Tickets for the semifinals are $23 for adults and $17 for youth per game, and $28 for adult and $23 for youth for the championship game.

Historically, the event has generated more than $2 million in local economic impact, with the event proceeds being directed to supporting hockey development in the community.
