Plenty Planned for Home Opener

The Chilliwack Chiefs will unveil their new jerseys, new (old) mascot and a new theme song at the Saturday night home opener (7 p.m.) versus Penticton.

Pregame festivities will involve a parade onto the ice of former Chiefs players, one for every year of the team’s existence and each wearing a jersey from that year.

Tickets

Local band Pardon My Striptease will play a live version of a song they’ve written for the hockey club, and Chief Wannawin will make his return to mascot action.

The new Chiefs jerseys have arrived, and the team will be sporting their red, white and gold look as they are introduced prior to the game.

Finally, the national anthem will be sung by a special guest singer, mayor Sharon Gaetz.
