Kings take 2-1 series lead with overtime win

Patrick Cozzi’s goal at the 10:40 mark of the first overtime gave the Prince George Spruce Kings a 2-1 win at Prospera Centre in Chilliwack Monday night. The win gives the Kings a 2-1 series lead in the best of seven series.

After a scoreless first period, Will Calverley gave the Chiefs a 1-0 lead with his second of the playoffs at the 6:01 mark of the second period. Harrison Blaisdell picked up the primary assist on the play getting the puck through a maze of players in to the Kings crease where Calverley was able to redirect it behind Prince George netminder Evan DeBrouwer.

After the Chiefs were unable to clear the puck out of their zone, the puck found itself on the stick of Kings defenseman Chays Ruddy at the left points.
