Chiefs bolster lineup with addition of Cole Donhauser
Tuesday July 3, 2018

The Chilliwack Chiefs continue to bolster their lineup for the upcoming season with the addition of 19 year old forward Cole Donhauser.

The announcement was made this morning by Chiefs General Manager and Head Coach Brian Maloney.

Donhauser, who spent last season at Nichols School in Buffalo New York is expected to play one season with the Chiefs before moving on to Yale University.

In 56 games with Nichols School last season, the native of Buffalo New York scored 32 goals and added 36 assists to lead his team in scoring.

He also served as his team’s Captain.

Donhauser describes himself as a goal scorer with a physical side to his game. “My best attributes are my hands and quick shot. I like to compare my game to how you saw Alexander Ovechkin play during the playoffs. I’m not afraid to use my body while either scoring or creating scoring chances for my teammates.”

When it came to choosing where to play next season, a few Chiefs alum helped make his decision. “A couple of my friends, Jake Smith and Matt Slick played for Chilliwack and all I have heard is amazing things about the fans and the town. I’m extremely excited to be coming to a team that has such great support from its community making it fun for the players and the fans.”

“Cole is a very smart two way player that comes with great work ethic,” added Maloney.  “Former Chief Jake Smith and his family spoke very highly of Cole and if he has just half of the character that Jake brought to the Chiefs, then Cole will fit in nicely with our young core. We’re thrilled that he chose Chilliwack as a place to advance his game before moving on to Yale University.”
