Derek Huisman scored twice and Bryton Udy made 41 saves to help lead the Chilliwack Chiefs to a 4-3 win over the Westside Warriors in Westside Saturday night.
With the win, the Chiefs improve to 3-1-0-0 on the season.
The Warriors (5-3-0-0) opened the scoring at 6:59 of the first period when Connor Dempsey scored his sixth goal of the season. With just 15 seconds left in the period, the Warriors regained the lead when a Seb Lloyd pass deflected off a Chiefs defender behind Udy.
Shots through 20 minutes favored the Warriors 15-9.
In the second, the Chiefs took a 3-2 lead on goals by Trevor Hills and Spencer Graboski. Tyler Krause's sixth goal of the season for the Warriors tied the game at three after two periods.
Despite being outshot 16-4 in the third period, the Chiefs scored the only goal of the period when Huisman tallied his second of the night on the power play at 12:19. The goal broke an 0/14 slump with the man advantage.
Final shots in the game were 44-25 in favor of the Warriors.
