Chiefs 4 Silverbacks 1

Three second period goals by forward Malcolm Gould paced the Chilliwack Chiefs to a 4-1 road victory over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks Saturday night.

All three of Gould's goals were assisted by David Bondra and Derek Huisman.

Huisman added a goal with fifteen seconds left in the third period.

With the win the Chiefs, who had a six game winning streak snapped by Prince George Friday night improve to 19-9-0-2 on the season. The win was also the fifth in five games vs Salmon Arm this season.

Brett Knowles scored the lone goal for the Silverbacks who see their record drop to 11-16-0-5.

Mitch Gillam returned to the Chiefs lineup and made 22 saves to earn his 12th win of the season.

Kurt Williams made 26 saves in a losing effort for the Silverbacks.

Chilliwack was 1/1 on the power play and 3/4 on the penalty kill.

The Chiefs wrap up the pre-holiday portion of the schedule Sunday afternoon in Vernon. Game time is 2pm.
