Chiefs win seventh straight

Mark Sinclair made 27 saves to help lead the Chiefs to a 5-2 win in Prince George Saturday night. The win was the seventh straight for the Chiefs who improved to 28-9-5-0.

Will Calverley got the Chiefs off to a quick start setting a team record for fastest goal to start a game when his wrist shot from the blueline eluded Spruce Kings goaltender Aris Anagnostopoulos just five seconds into the game.

The lead lasted just 30 seconds as Tyler Anderson scored his 16th of the season to tie the game at one.

Olivier Arseneau’s 4th of the season midway through the first gave the Chiefs a 2-1 lead after twenty minutes. The goal chased Anagnostopoulos from the net after giving up two goals on nine shots.

Kohen Olischefski (15) scored the only goal of the middle period to give the Chiefs a two goal cushion after two period.

Third period goals by Jake Smith (23) and Jordan Kawaguchi (27) upped the Chiefs lead to 5-1 before a late goal by Kings forward Ben Brar finished the scoring.

Next game for the Chiefs is Wednesday night when they host the Coquitlam Express.
