Chiefs In Search of Billet Families

The Chilliwack Chiefs are taking applications from families interested in becoming a billet home for our players in the upcoming 2017-18 season. Billet families are an important part of the Chilliwack Chiefs program and it takes special people to be a part of it. Billet families welcome players ranging in age from 16-20 into their home and make them a part of their family for up to ten months of the year creating lifelong friendships with not only the player but more often the not the player’s family too.
Some key points about billeting:
  • A home visit is required before being accepted into the program.
  • Players will start to arrive mid-August and will stay until after the May 2018 Long Weekend as Chilliwack hosts the 2018 Royal Bank Cup. Players do return home for a week or so at Christmas, this is dependent on our game schedule.
  • Players will need to have their own room and ideally bathroom, although that is not necessary. Sharing a bathroom is okay too.
  • Billet families are expected to provide meals for the players, the most important being the pre-game meal. Other household duties and chores, we would expect you to treat the player as you would your own children.
  • The team is responsible for player transportation should a player not have a vehicle. However, they may be occasion when the billet family is needed to get the player from point A to point B.
  • Each family member living in the house will receive one (1) season ticket. One parking pass will also be provided.
  • Remuneration can either be a monthly cash payment or Save On Foods Gift Cards. More details provided should your family be accepted.
If interested please send your completed application and return it to Andrea at the Chiefs Office either or by fax 604-392-1035.
