Will Calverley scored three times and added an assist to help lead the Chiefs to a 5-5 season opening tie in Prince George Friday night.
Sean Thomson with his first BCHL goal and Wyatt Elmer also scored for the Chiefs.
Daniel Chenard went the distance in goal for the Chiefs making 34 saves.
Patrick Cozzi scored twice for the home team. Singles went to Dylan Anhorn, Jarod Hovde and Liam Watson-Brawn. Brawn’s goal game with 48 seconds left in the third period to send the game to overtime.
The two teams meet again Saturday night in Prince George.
